Some of the descriptions this comic has had in the past include:

1. A semi autobiographical fantasy.
2. About a girl and her demons.

The comic is called November West because many years ago I told someone "I want to do a semi autobiographical comic with a character like Mae West, only not. So maybe Mae East." They suggested November West and I liked it and bought that domain name.

I actually kept both names. Her maiden name is November Mae East and my plan was to do a comic called East Meets West about how I met my husband to explain how she became November West as her grown up name.

The first iteration of the comic was set "in the present" for my life as a divorced single mom with a corporate job and one of my children was called Demon Child in the comic and looked like a demon. I used to affectionately call him Demon Child when he was little because my kids were, as a polite foreign friend used to politely say, very challenging children.

Blogging about my kids was my gateway drug for learning to make websites to express myself because my emails on parenting lists were seemingly popular at one time and I was being asked "Can I publish that?" or "Can I forward that?" My current parenting blog is called Raising Future Adults.

The original comic about my corporate job is long lost, but the parts about me as a child happened to survive. I had it set up under the name Lil November and then renamed it The Cute and the Dead and eventually realized there's already a comic by that name which predates me coming up with that phrase independently.

The domain name November West was available, so I bought it and changed the domain name to that. So that is why I have a comic about a little girl named November Mae East titled November West.

It's not really intended to be taken too literally. I considered having some characters be dinosaurs to represent men I knew with old fashioned values.

It's probably been between fifteen and twenty years since I thought it up and it's only just now gelling and whatever will be, will be.
